Onyx Construction Consultants Ltd was set up in 2004 by Andrew Fella. Andrew has over 40 years in construction, most of it on the commercial side of groundworks and residential development.

Since 2004 Onyx has worked for national housebuilders, regional groundwork contractors and small local developers, including a spell as consultant to Taylor Wimpey.

How we work

We’ve sat on both sides of the table: as the contractor pricing the job and the developer buying it. So we know what a good tender looks like, and where the risks hide.

Every job gets the same approach:

  1. Read the tender documents properly, including the SI report and specification.
  2. Measure accurately from the drawings.
  3. Price using current rates and real site experience.
  4. Set out exclusions and clarifications clearly, so there are no surprises later.
